My Big Kinky Erotica Post, Part Six

I can’t believe this is the sixth entry into Chicks Dig Books’s erotica series. That’s a lot of smut! Take a look at these sexy reads. Hopefully you’ll find something new and hot to read!

The Silver Chain by Primula Bond (July 2013)

The first in a hot new erotic trilogy by British author Primula Bond!

Serena Folkes thought she had her life sorted out. Finally free of her abusive foster parents, and having just inherited a nice sum of money, Serena has come to London to try to make it as a professional photographer. But while shooting outdoors on Halloween night, Serena realizes someone is watching her…

Wealthy entrepreneur Gustav Levi is taken with Serena from the moment he saw her. After some heavy-duty flirting, he extends a proposition to Serena: he will launch her photography career in exchange for her companionship…and obedience. He’s not exactly asking her for sex, but for her to spend time with him and help him get over his failed marriage. Serena hopes to take their relationship to the next level. But can Gustav let go of his demons and move forward?

This book seems to be getting some mixed reviews, and I will say that it is pretty slow. But it’s well written, and somewhat moodier than other popular erotica books. It explores the darker side of sexuality, including self-punishment and voyeurism. What is especially interesting is that this book references some events that occurred in Bond’s novella Sisters in Sin (featured in my last erotica post). Sisters also focuses heavily on voyeurism; it seems to be a common theme in Bond’s writing.

Don’t miss out on The Silver Chain. If you enjoy it, the sequel will be out in November!

Crash Into You by Roni Loren (2012)

Passion and suspense come together in this super hot thriller! This book in the first installment in Loren’s Loving on the Edge series.

Brynn LeBreck is less than thrilled when she finds out she’s going to be working with her ex. Brynn hasn’t been with Reid in ten years, and while they had a very hot D/s relationship, Brynn has left that life behind to focus on her work as a women’s crisis counselor.

But the past catches up to Brynn when her troubled sister Kelsey goes missing. When Reid offers to help, he discovers that Kelsey may be hiding out at The Ranch, an exclusive BDSM retreat. Brynn uses Reid’s connections to get into The Ranch, while trying to push away the hurt from her memories of their painful breakup. But there are other forces at work as well. Someone wants Brynn out of the way, someone dangerous from her past.

Crash Into You is a lot of fun, a great mix of suspense and erotica. The story is compelling, the characters are believable and well developed, and there are some great plot twists to keep you hooked. I’ll definitely be checking out the other books in the series. This one is a must-read for erotica fans…you won’t regret it!

The Dark Garden by Eden Bradley (2007)

Long before there was Fifty Shades, there was The Dark Garden. Eden Bradley has written a ton of erotic novels and short stories, and if you’re new to her writing (like I was), this is the perfect book to start off with!

Rowan Cassidy is a dominatrix at an exclusive west coast BDSM club. But while her services are highly in demand, Rowan is in a bit of a slump. She’s bored of playing with her little submissive boys, but can’t figure out what is making her feel this way.

Enter Christian Thorne, an artist who has just returned to the US from Europe. He’s a true natural dominant, and captures Rowan’s attention from the first minute she sees him. After getting to know her, Christian tells Rowan exactly what her problem is: that she’s actually a submissive playing at being a dominant. Though reluctant at first, Rowan agrees to be Christian’s submissive for one month, a proposition that both intrigues and terrifies her.

This is an interesting and very hot book that explores the psychology behind being dominant or submissive. Rowan is convinced that she is no sub, but her time with Christian forces her to explore the “dark garden” within herself. This is a story about being true to yourself and having the courage to explore different sides to your personality.

Red Letters by Krystina Stevens (2012)

I’ll close the sixth installment in my erotica series with another romantic thriller!

Tania Lane is at an impasse in her life. She lives in a beautiful apartment and has a successful fiancé and her own fledgling business, but she feels stuck. Her fiancé, Martin, is always away on business, and can’t seem to commit to setting a wedding date. With him out of town for days at a time, Tania feels bored and neglected.

Things become interesting when Tania gets a hand-delivered letter in a red envelope with a simple message: “You are beautiful.” Over the next few weeks, she receives more letters and a few kinky gifts. At first, the attention from her mystery man makes her feel wanted and sexual. But when Tania discovers the true identity of her secret admirer, the fantasy is shattered and she ends up fearing for her life.

Red Letters is a good read for people who enjoy erotic thrillers. I enjoyed Crash Into You a little more, but Red Letters is a fun and sexy read for a rainy afternoon. There were some plot details that I wish were explained better, and I thought it was a little silly that no one addresses Tania’s apparent drinking problem, but the story is enjoyable and I was surprised when the identity of Tania’s admirer was finally revealed.

Have you read any of these books? Let me know what you thought! And look out for the next installment in this series…I have something a little different in mind!
